# Tailscale access

> Share Zuse privately with devices on your tailnet through Tailscale Serve, without exposing it to the public internet.

Canonical URL: https://docs.zuse.sh/remote/tailscale

Tailscale access makes Zuse available only to devices on your tailnet. Zuse uses Tailscale Serve to publish a private HTTPS address for the computer. It does not expose Zuse to the public internet and does not require a Zuse account.

Before you begin, install Tailscale on the computer that runs Zuse and sign in to it.

## Turn it on [#turn-it-on]

1. In the desktop app, open **Settings → Remote access**.
2. Under **Connections**, choose **Set up** next to **Tailscale**.
3. Confirm **Enable Tailscale**. If Tailscale is not installed yet, the button reads **Install Tailscale** and opens the Tailscale download page instead.
4. If Tailscale opens your browser to approve Serve, approve it once.

When the row shows **Private access** with the computer's tailnet name, create a connect link under **Connect another device** and choose **Tailscale** in **Connect through**. See [Browser access](/remote/local-browser.md) for the rest of the authorization flow.

## Turn it off [#turn-it-off]

Choose **Turn off** next to **Tailscale**, then confirm **Turn off Tailscale**. Devices using the private tailnet address disconnect. Other enabled connections keep working.

## Zuse Serve [#zuse-serve]

On a headless computer, run `zuse serve --tailscale` to share Serve privately over Tailscale Serve HTTPS in addition to its account connection. See the [Serve command reference](/serve/command-reference.md).
